Renovon Consulting Inc. (“Renovon,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) helps growing businesses put their operations in order. We hold ourselves to the same standard with your personal information that we ask of the companies we advise: collect only what you need, use it only for the reason you collected it, protect it properly, and be honest about the whole thing. This policy is how we keep that promise on renovon.ca.
It applies to information gathered through this website—including consultation requests, career applications and résumés, article submissions—and to related email correspondence. It does not govern the internal systems we build for clients under a separate services agreement, which are covered by the terms of that engagement.
Who we are
Renovon Consulting Inc. is an operational consulting firm based in Ontario, Canada, serving organizations across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, reach us at connect@renovoninc.com. We are the party responsible for the personal information collected through this site.
The information we collect
We collect two kinds of information: what you choose to give us, and a small amount that is recorded automatically when any modern website is used.
Information you give us
When you request a consultation, you provide your name, email, optional phone and organization details, optional operating environment and team size, your preferred starting point, and a description of the matter you want help with.
When you apply for a role, you provide contact and location details, application answers, relevant profile links, the role selected, and a résumé. See Career applicants and résumés for how we handle that material.
When you submit an article through our writer submission form, you provide your name, email, professional details, biography, an optional headshot, and your article and its supporting information. We use this to review your submission and, only with your explicit consent, to attribute and publish your work.
If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include in that message. We treat it with the same care as anything submitted through a form.
Information collected automatically
Like virtually all websites, our hosting environment keeps standard server logs — your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time. These logs exist for security and reliability, not for tracking you around the web. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell data.
To limit automated form abuse, our protected form handlers keep short-lived counters identified by one-way keyed hashes rather than raw IP or email values. The counters contain timestamps only, stop affecting requests after their applicable window (no longer than 24 hours), and are cleaned during later form traffic. They are not used for advertising or behavioural profiling.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- respond to your consultation request and, where it fits, discuss working together;
- review, edit, and — with your consent — publish article submissions and author profiles;
- receive and assess career applications, communicate about recruitment, and administer a selection process;
- answer your questions and stay in touch about matters you raised with us;
- maintain the security, integrity, and performance of this website; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that affect you, and we do not repurpose it for something unrelated to why you gave it to us without asking first.
Your consent
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), we rely on your consent to collect and use your personal information. You give that consent when you submit a form or send us a message for a clear purpose. You can withdraw it at any time — see Your privacy rights below — though doing so may mean we can no longer provide the service you asked for.
Email and commercial messages
We respect Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We will only send you commercial electronic messages where we have your consent or an existing business relationship that permits it, and every such message includes a clear way to unsubscribe. If you ever receive email from us you did not expect, tell us at connect@renovoninc.com and we will make it right.
How your information is shared
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in these limited situations:
Service providers who operate this website. A small number of providers process information on our behalf so the site can function. Hostinger hosts the website and receives data transmitted to its server. Protected server-side handlers send consultation inquiries, career applications, résumés, and writer submissions to private Airtable bases so authorized Renovon team members can review and respond. If email notifications are enabled, Renovon's email provider may also process the information included in those messages. These providers deliver services to Renovon under their own security and privacy terms.
Technical resources loaded by the site. To render properly, our pages load fonts and script libraries from established content-delivery networks (such as Google Fonts and jsDelivr). When your browser requests these files, the provider may log your IP address as a normal part of serving them. These requests do not set advertising cookies.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or those of others.
Business transfers. If Renovon is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the protections of this policy.
Where your information is processed
Some of our service providers store or process information on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that is the case, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access requests by their authorities. We choose reputable providers and, wherever practical, keep this cross-border footprint to what the service genuinely requires.
Career applicants and résumés
Application information may include your name, email, phone number, city and province, availability, profile or portfolio links, written answers, the position and reference code, and the résumé you upload. The web host processes the upload long enough for the protected form handler to validate and transmit it; the application record and résumé are then stored in a private Airtable base.
We use applicant information only to assess qualifications and role fit, communicate about an application, manage interviews or next steps, maintain recruitment records, and meet legal obligations. Access is limited to Renovon team members and providers who need it for those purposes. Providing an application does not guarantee an interview or offer.
For candidates who are not hired, we generally retain application material for up to 12 months after the relevant recruitment process closes, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or a legal reason requires a different period. If you are hired, relevant information may become part of an employment or contractor record governed by the applicable agreement and retention requirements. You may exercise the rights below for applicant information.
Article submissions and author profiles
Material submitted through our writer form is treated as confidential and is reviewed internally before any decision is made. Submitting an article does not obligate us to publish it, and it does not transfer ownership of your work to us. If we accept your article, we publish your name, professional title, biography, and photo only to the extent you have expressly consented on the submission form. You may ask us to update or remove a published author profile at any time.
Cookies and similar technologies
We keep cookies to a minimum. This public website does not run third-party advertising, cross-site tracking, or an external analytics tag. The site prepares privacy-safe interaction events without transmitting form contents; no analytics provider receives them unless Renovon later approves and configures one. After a successful writer submission, a short-lived, essential receipt cookie prevents the confirmation page from being counted repeatedly; it contains a random receipt value rather than submitted information and is deleted when used. If our analytics or cookie use changes, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as it serves the purpose described here, or as long as we are legally required to. Consultation inquiries are retained while we are in contact and for a reasonable period afterward. Applicant retention is described in Career applicants and résumés. Article submissions are retained for editorial review and, if published, for as long as the article remains part of our library. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it using the controls available to us and our providers.
How we protect your information
We take practical, meaningful steps to protect your information: encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the site, access controls on private data systems, validated file uploads, abuse controls, and databases that are not publicly reachable. That said, no method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your information in a way that poses a real risk of harm, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
Your privacy rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Withdraw consent to our use of your information, subject to legal or contractual limits;
- Ask about how your information has been collected, used, or shared; and
- Request deletion of information we no longer have a valid reason to keep.
To exercise any of these, email connect@renovoninc.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, and normally at no cost. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, simply to make sure we are releasing information to the right person.
Children’s privacy
This website and our services are intended for businesses and the professionals who run them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Our site links to external resources — for example, our profiles on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, and sources cited in our articles. Once you follow a link off renovon.ca, you are subject to that site’s privacy practices, not ours. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Changes to this policy
As our business and this website evolve, we may update this policy. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top and make significant changes clear. Where a change requires new consent, we will ask for it.
How to reach us
Questions, requests, or concerns about your privacy are always welcome. Contact us at connect@renovoninc.com and we will respond promptly.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you also have the right to contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca. We would, of course, prefer the chance to resolve it with you directly first.
